A vision for Korean Education Community and Global Education Community

By creatively overcoming the challenges of our time, we envision an Educational Community for the Korean people and go beyond ourselves to build a Global Educational Community that serves the world.

The Korean people at the forefront of world history

In the past 2,000 years of history, our nation has been invaded about 1,000 times, but we have invaded other countries less than 10 times. However, we need to recognize that our nation, which was once confined to the Korean Peninsula, has become a nation that has been at the forefront of world history since the 21st century.

Currently, South Korea is the country with the most extensive global presence, having entered more than 180 countries. The number of Koreans living abroad has reached 7.5 million. Remarkably, their distribution shows that they are exerting global influence in the four major powers that shape the fate of the world today — with 2.2 million in the United States, 900,000 in Japan, 2.7 million in China, and 500,000 in the Russian region.

Current influence is a gift given through pain

This influence was not created by our people; it was the result of our people’s suffering.

  1. Joseonjok (Koreans in China): Ethnic Koreans who settled in China to survive after Japan invaded Korea, and were unable to return.
  2. Koryo-saram (Koreans in Central Asia): Ethnic Koreans who were forcibly deported to Central Asia by the Soviet Union and have not been able to return.
  3. Zainichi Koreans (Koreans in Japan): Formed as a result of forced labor conscription during the late period of Japanese colonial rule.
  4. Compatriots in the U.S. and Europe: After the Korean War, millions of casualties led many to move to the U.S. and Europe, forming today’s large global Korean diaspora.

We need to have the historical acumen to recognize that this suffering has placed our people on the forefront of world history, and that it was not of our making, but rather a gift given to our people by history.

Global Educational Community through receptivity education

Therefore, we envision a Korean Education Community — one that unites 75 million Koreans divided between South and North Korea, along with 7.5 million overseas Koreans — through the bond of receptivity-based education, a new paradigm for a better future. Through this, we must expand into a “Global Education Community” that shares with other ethnicities and embraces universal humanity.
Through receptivity education, individuals can maximize their abilities and grow into “Diamond-Collar holistic persons who embrace the world.” These individuals will play a key role in rebuilding the collapsed and desolate field of education and in restoring lost humanity, ultimately enabling humankind to live a truly meaningful life.

Theme song: Come, Light of Truth

When the light of truth comes and shines upon this land,
This nation will become one and serve the nations.
From the ridges of Gaema Plateau to the icy cliffs of Tianshan,
At the foot of Ararat, I will dedicate my life for my neighbors.

When the light of truth comes and shines upon this land,
This nation will become one and serve the nations.
By the shores of Lake Baikal, in the heart of the Sahara Desert,
At the base of Kilimanjaro, I will dedicate my life for my neighbors.

We, who will build a new era and a new history,
Will cultivate and refine the calling given to us, hand in hand, united as one.
We will become workers to fulfill His kingdom and His dream,
Until the day comes when His kingdom and His dream are fully realized.

Visit to Korea by the Research Institute of Pedagogical Sciences of Uzbekistan named after Qori Niyozi for 5-Dimensional Education Research and Reporting

Founder_Dr. Dongyeon Won

He is the founder of 5-Dimensional Holistic Education.
After publishing DY Learning Method in 1995, he entered the field of education by introducing a series of 5-Dimensional methodologies, including 5-Dimensional Education, Nine Stages of 5-Dimensional Academic Learning, and 5-Dimensional English Learning Method.
He graduated from Seoul National University of Engineering and earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from KAIST. He then worked at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, where he made significant contributions to the development of superconductors in Korea. During that time, he published numerous research papers and patents and was named one of the “Top 100 People Who Brightened Korea.”
While working as a scientist, he became deeply concerned about students struggling with their studies. In 1999, he founded Seine High School as an alternative school and personally taught and guided students. Seine High School achieved remarkable success and gained widespread attention from both the educational community and the media.
Since then, he has established and operated many schools both domestically and internationally, and has expanded the reach of 5-Dimensional Education nationwide through university education, corporate training, and teacher training programs in the public education sector.
He is currently devoted solely to his path as an educator, continuing to pursue his mission with unwavering passion and dedication.

The Fruits of Five-Dimensional Education

Thirty years ago, upon publishing his first book, he asserted that education should nurture individuals in a comprehensive manner. He emphasized the need for 5-Dimensional Education, which develops five key elements of a fully-formed character: intellectual strength, emotional strength, physical strength, self-management ability, and human relation ability. He stated that individuals who receive such an education would be equipped with the power to succeed in life.
It’s been 30 years since the Five-Dimensional Education movement began, and we’ve worked with more than 15,000 teachers, parents, and experts to test the claims.

Educating at Yanbian University of Science and Technology, China

In 1996, after implementing 5-Dimensional Education at Yanbian University of Science and Technology in China, lower-ranking students at Yanji No. 2 High School rose to the top ranks.

Mongolia Bright Future Comprehensive School

In 1997, at Bright Future Comprehensive School in Mongolia, 5-Dimensional Education was applied to children abandoned on the streets, resulting in better outcomes than those of students in regular schools.

Establishment of the Mongolia International University

In 2001, through a meeting between Mongolian President Natsagiin Bagabandi and Dr. Dong-Yeon Won, Mongolia International University was established in 2002, laying the foundation for implementing 5-Dimensional Education in Central Asia.

Lao National University

Lao National University implemented Five-Dimensional Education in 2006.

Establishment of the United African University of Tanzania

In 2012, the United African University of Tanzania was established, and 5-Dimensional Education has since been implemented in more than 12 countries.

Implementation of 5D Education in Korea:

After first applying this education at Seine High School, the approach expanded with the establishment of Bell International School and the implementation of 5D Education at Dongducheon Middle and High School. Significant results were also achieved through Diamond-collar Global Academy, which was founded to develop future talents.

The spread of Five Dimensional Educationin Mongolia, centered on the Ulaanbaatar Education Department, led to a meeting with Mongolian President Bagabandi in 2001, and the establishment of the Mongolian International University (MIU) became a reality.
The Mongolian media has also taken a keen interest in the plans to establish Mongolian International University, and many newspapers have featured Five Dimensional Education in Mongolia.

Seven Mongolian principals translated the revised Mongolian Education Law of 2007 and brought it to Korea.
As Mongolia looks toward a new era after the communist era, the Mongolian Education Law was revised, which states that it is necessary to cultivate practical skills through Mongolian education, and practical skills are defined as a person who has the five elements of intellect, mind, physical strength, self-management, and human relations as described in Five Dimensional Education.

Promoting the Globalization of the 5-Dimensional English Language Learning Method

2008-02-14 Kyunghyang Shinmun
Dr. Dongyon Wen (53), founder of the five-dimensional all-round education, and DIA University President Steady Heon (66) first met at Yanbian University of Science and Technology in China in 1995. Dr. Wen was then vice president, and President An came to the university to conduct a summer training program for Chinese English teachers. It was here that An read Dr. Wen’s “Five-Dimensional Comprehensive English Teaching Method” and was deeply impacted.

“I was very surprised to find that Dr. Wen’s book is the same method of English learning that I have been struggling with for decades in the field of university English teaching. Dr. Wen is a great man, because he has simply solved my long-standing problem with the power of five-dimensional comprehensive education.”

On the spot, President An received a five-dimensional comprehensive training from Dr. Wen. He was trained to improve his intellect, mind, physical strength, self-management, and interpersonal skills, making up for his deficiencies and maximizing his talents. What’s more, the two had been on the campus of Shinyil Academy together in the early 1970s. Dr. Ahn had been a Korean language teacher at Shilla Middle School before studying in the United States, and Dr. Won was a student at Shilla High School at the time. In short, they were priests.

[MediaFacts=Homin Seo, reporter]
Kangjin Doam Middle School (Principal Lee Sook-hee) has launched the ‘Study-led 365 Movement’ for a school where learning is fun and studying is fun.
The Study-led 365 Movement is designed to study 365 days a year in a self-directed manner based on five-dimensional comprehensive education.
5The five-dimensional education aims to realize a holistic human education by cultivating intellect, heart, physical strength, self-management, and human relationship skills to enhance acceptance, rather than a one-dimensional education that focuses on simple knowledge transfer. Based on these five core competencies, the ‘Study-led 365 Movement’ is a variety of educational activities that help correct distorted study sentiments, foster self-direction, and make studying fun and enjoyable.

“In the age of AI, it is important to expand human creativity and thinking, and ‘5th Dimension AI’ will be the starting point of an educational revolution,” said KAIST Professor Kwang-Hyung Lee, who recommended the book.

“This book presents practical and effective ways to use AI technology to enhance human capabilities and enable ethical and creative thinking,” said Park Nam-Ki, former president of Gwangju National University.

“This book will be of great help to all those who are thinking about the future of education,” said Dr. So Kang-chun, former director of the National Language Institute. “I hope that educators, learners, and everyone living in the AI era will discover the future of education in harmony with AI and humans through this book.”

The way forward

Integrate and reorganize the history of five-dimensional all-round education in the past 30 years, and lay the foundation for unified five-dimensional all-round education for all people in all regions through global standardization.

Global standardization of textbooks over the past 30 years

Since the publication of the DY Method in 1994, countless textbooks have been adapted and used in the classroom. In order to standardize the textbooks that have been adapted or not used in each region, about 1,800 textbooks are standardized so that everyone in every country has access to essentially the same content.
